International Hotel is located in the heart of the Eternal City, two steps from Trinità dei Monti, the famous steps of Piazza di Spagna, and near the most famous brand worldwide. Historically the hotel has its roots on a set of buildings dating back at the time of Sixtus V (XVI century), in turn based on buildings belonging to the “Horti Luculliani” dated I sec. b.C. The original construction of the building dates back to the first 1600s; in 1870 it became a hotel and took its current structure.
Many of the original structures are still well present inside the hotel: a Roman column, with capital carved in relief, dating back at the age of Giulio Claudia (the sec. a.C.), is situated in the lounge adjacent to the reception, as well as an ancient well of the Roman age; a symbol of International Hotel is the plant of wisteria, dated more than 650 years, starting from underground corridors up until the roof terrace.
The warm and friendly atmosphere of the breakfast room is enriched, in addition to the professional service, by architectonical details such as the lacunars ceiling and the precious Murano glass chandelier.
The breakfast room can also be used for events, ceremonies and cultural activities. From the terrace, sipping a cocktail or enjoying the breakfast, it is possible to enjoy, from a privileged position, an outstanding and unforgettable panorama of the city of Rome and St. Peter’s Dome.
